Margaret “Peggy” Rose Sennett Weis (73) of Stuart, Florida, formerly of Potomac, MD and Bethany Beach, DE, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Peggy was the beloved wife of Frank T. Weis for 51 years, loving mother of three and cherished grandmother of eight.
Peggy was born on September 5, 1940 in Erie, PA., the daughter of Bernard W. and Rosanna C. Sennett. Peggy was a 1958 graduate from Villa Maria Academy, 1960 graduate of Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School and 1962 graduate of George Washington University. Peggy volunteered her time, talent and treasure to a tremendous number of churches, schools and charitable organizations throughout her life.
Peggy embraced life with her outgoing, energetic and loving personality. She was a model example of a strong, gracious and Christian wife and mother who was deeply devoted to her faith, family and friends. She never met a stranger and was always ready with a story. Peggy enjoyed reading, swimming, golf and traveling the world with her husband, Frank.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Sennett Smith and Jane Sennett Baron. She is survived by her husband, her son, Frank T. Weis, Jr. and his wife, June, of Bethesda, MD.; two daughters, Margaret “Marti” C. Weis of Selbyville, DE. and Amy Weis Dobos and her husband, Steven, of Temple, TX; one brother William C. Sennett of Erie, PA; eight grandchildren, Megan, Caitlin, Whitney, Abbey and Walker Weis; Ryan and Elyse Dobos; and Taylor Mooers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, 1524 Thirty-Fifth Street, N.W. Washington, DC, on Friday, November 22nd from 4-7pm and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 9200 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD on Saturday, November 23rd at 1pm. Burial will follow at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery in Potomac, MD. A memorial will be held in Florida at a later date. Details to follow.
