Mary Frances Elbin

Mary Frances Elbin, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Bethesda, MD, surrounded by family on September 8, 2017. Born in Cumberland, MD on August 26, 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Kelly and Irene Kelly Ley of Cumberland, MD; her husband of 65 years, Carl Maxwell (Max) Elbin; four step-sisters, and two step-brothers. She is survived by three daughters, Carrene Ressa of Rockville, MD; Peggy Crockett of Raleigh, NC; and Nancy Elbin Abell of Bethesda, MD; two sons, Max Elbin, Jr. of Ashburn, VA; and Kelly Elbin of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her step-sister, Dorothy Altice of Cumberland, MD.

The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 9222 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., on September 13, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Interment immediately following at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery in Potomac.
