Michael Louis Dabich, loving son to Eli and Eileen Dabich, Jr, devoted brother to Charles (Marsha) Dabich, Mary (Matthew) McCormick and Kathy (Beau) Engman. In addition to his three siblings he was loved by all his 13 nieces and nephews. Alexandria, Olivia, Benjamin, Jackson and Samantha Dabich, Elizabeth, Patrick, Megan, Kevin and John McCormick and Katherine, Audrey and Clara Engman. Michael passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 3rd.
Michael was a very social person who loved being with people. He grew up in Severna Park, Md before moving to Dunwoody, Georgia. He fell in love with the south and stayed on to attend The University of Georgia in Athens. Always an entrepreneur he started a t-shirt business in Athens where bars and stores could buy a space on the “Monopoly Board” on the back of the shirt. He proudly was telling some of his nieces and nephews last November in Hilton Head during a fishing trip that the shirt is still in one of the bars in Athens.
He moved to Sarasota, Florida after some time in Atlanta. We were lucky enough to go visit him down in Sarasota and enjoy the powder white sand and warm Gulf Coast. After some time in Sarasota he realized he wanted to be closer to family so he found an apartment in Dupont, Washington DC. He enjoyed walking around the area, volunteering at a Puppy Adoption and attending Mass at St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Mike was a loyal friend, met people easily especially with his daily coffee runs and helped the homeless in Dupont with 7-Eleven treats..
We all share many specials memories with Michael especially his love of sports, golf and football in particular. He cherished his Catholic Faith, his Family and his Georgia Bulldogs. He loved to text on Saturdays in the fall, “GO DAWGS!.” Rest in Peace, Michael!!
