Of Bethesda, MD, age 98, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015. She was born March 24, 1917 near Elmwood, IL, daughter of Fred and Ruby Mawson Rigg. She married Boyce L. Blackwell on January 6, 1945 in Washington, DC. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1973. She is survived by one son, Charles L. Blackwell of Bethesda, MD; a sister, Irene Martin of Jacksonville, IL and a brother, William Rigg (Maxine) of Jacksonville, IL. Preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Wagner and a brother, Hobart Rigg. Also survived by sister-in-law, Phylis Rigg.
She graduated from Jacksonville High School and Harden Brown Business College.
Family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., at The Joseph E. Hagan Chapel at Joseph Gawler's Sons, 5130 Wisconsin Ave, at Harrison St., NW, Washington, DC. Interment to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
