Ali Halim was born on June 21, 1935 in Cairo, Egypt and died on April 18, 2015 in Washington DC. His parents were Prince Abbas Halim and Princess Tawhida, members of the Mohamed Ali Family, the former Royal Family of Egypt. His younger sister, Ulvia predeceased him. He is survived by his eldest sister, Nevine, who lives in Alexandria and Lausanne, Switzerland, as well as Ulvia's children, Luigi and Nevine Scaramella, who live in Italy. Ali worked and lived most of his adult life in Washington DC, becoming an American citizen and was living in the DuPont Circle neighborhood at the time of his death. He will be remembered for his elegance, deep friendships, personal philosophy and wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
