Nando Chiarelli

Nando Chiarelli, 89, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Medstar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, MD. He was born on September 09, 1935, in L'Aquila, Italy.

Nando loved being outdoors, whether gardening or relaxing in the sun. He had a passion for cooking and baking. As a chef for the Embassy of Luxembourg for many years, he cooked and served several dignitaries and celebrities. He loved to entertain and accommodate the masses.

Nando is survived by his wife, Socorro Ilao.

Visitation is from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Joseph Gawler’s Sons, LLC Funeral Home, 5130 Wisconsin Ave. NW Washington, DC. 20016. A visitation will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 follwed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:30 am at the Shrine of St. Jude, 12701 Veirs Mill Road Rockville, MD 20853 followed by the interment at Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Road Rockville, MD. A celebration of life reception will be held at the mansion on the grounds of Parklawn Memorial Park following interment.
