On Monday, Jan 1, 2019, Peter George Balis of Brooklyn, New York, passed away at the age of
89.
He is survived by Mary, his beloved wife of 69 years, his son George, his daughter-in-law Alexis,
and his grandson and namesake Peter.
He was predeceased by his brother James Balis and his son James Harry Peter Balis.
He carried us with his devotion and love. Eternal be his memory.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8 at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral
2815 36th Street NW, Washington DC 20007. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service to
follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox
Cathedral.
