Robert Allen Nash

Robert Allen Nash died at his home in Washington, D.C. at the age of 85 surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Robert (Bob) Nash was born on November 13, 1940 to Ernest Allen Nash and Glynora B. (nee Sinclair) Nash in Chicago, IL.

Bob grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut and then Grosse Pointe, Michigan and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. There, he rode crew and studied engineering. He met the love of his life, Mary Jo Nash (nee Goggin) in Washington, DC where they both remained for the next six decades. Bob and Mary Jo were married for 57 years and they were devoted to each other.

Bob worked for the Architect of the U.S. Capitol for several decades designing and executing infrastructures for coding and computing and then he led his own computer business. He loved his Catholic faith, his family, his friends and his country and his adopted city, Washington, DC. Bob will be remembered as a gentleman and a scholar. He was deeply loved and he will be very missed.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jo, his daughter Ellen Nash Christman and son-in-law Paul “Roger” Christman II of Bedminster, New Jersey and his grandsons Paul “Tripp” Christman III and Tate Carlisle Christman. In addition, he is also survived by his son, Seamus Allen Nash and his grandson, Gray Allen Nash and his granddaughter, Sara Cathryn Nash of Odenton, Maryland.

A private, family funeral was held at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Northwest, Washington, D.C. A celebration of Bob’s wonderful life will take place this Summer, 2026.
