

Ronald Grant Munns, 82, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025 in Washington, D.C. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, to Marion and Helen Munns (née Anderson), Ron was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather (“Papa”), brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Ron was a successful businessman in the tire industry and a U.S. Army veteran. He spent many cherished years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and traveled the world with his beloved wife, Carmen, after meeting her in the Dominican Republic. Together, they raised their daughter, Lisa, and built a life full of love and adventure.
Ron lived a rich life marked by travel, curiosity, and quiet generosity. Together, they shared a life of adventure, traveling the globe. Some of the highlights of his travels included the streets of Hong Kong, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Red Square in Moscow, and Capri in Italy. Ron worked for decades in the tire industry, building a successful career as a founding member of Mountain Tire Ventures in Evergreen, CO, in 1987. He worked for Dunlop Tire while living in Golden, CO, and then for Falken Tire after moving to Florida in 1992. Ron retired in 2010 and became a Senior Advisor for Falken Tires.
Ron had a deep appreciation for astronomy, history, music, and cars. He enjoyed chess, ping pong, basketball, and Mexican food—especially tamales and cheese enchiladas. Known for his piercing blue eyes, wit, and devotion to his family, Ron will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Carmen Munns, daughter Lisa Cox, son-in-law Justin Cox, two grandchildren, and his sister Debbie Allio and her family.
A memorial service will be held on June 18th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Capitol Hill. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a future date. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ron’s memory.
