Died June 17, 2017, Saone in Washington, DC, after a seven-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on January 11, 1943 in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia, Zimbabwe. She was a graduate of University of Cape Town, Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and Georgetown University Law School; environmental attorney and exquisite communicator, a creator of family nests, consummate gardener and decorator. She is survived and beloved by Chester; daughters, Bathsheba, Karena and Rebecca; grandchildren, Tala, Ella, Caleb, Rosa, Avey, Asha, Milo, and Farrin; and sisters Merle and Beverly.A memorial celebration of Saone's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Humane Rescue Alliance or the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.
