Mrs. Hovde was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate of 47 years, Donald I. Hovde, as well as her dear sister, Annie and her brother, Virgil.
Following high school, Ginny attended nursing school in Madison, Wisconsin where she met the love of her life, Don. They were married on February 20, 1954. Don and Ginny spent the first 3 years of marriage at different military bases, while Don was in the Army. They then settled back in Madison, where she raised their 5 children. Ginny was an amazingly devoted mother who provided her children unconditional love and a relationship with God. In 1981, Don and Ginny moved to Washington DC as Don became a member of President Reagan's Administration. In their later years, they split their time between DC, Madison, and Scottsdale, Arizona. In her free time, Ginny enjoyed long walks with her beloved dogs and had a passion for reading, which she passed onto her children. Ginny was a member of Buckeye Evangelical Church in Madison and National Presbyterian Church in Washington DC.
Ginny was an extraordinary woman and the most wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. All throughout her life she was a positive and giving person. Her loving and caring nature touched everyone around her. Throughout her life she was immensely comforted by the unwavering assurance that God was ultimately in complete control of everything and that He held her hand as she journeyed through life.
