Anne Marie Paterno

Anne Marie Paterno, 88 of Washingtonville, NY, passed away on November 5, 2024. She was born in Queens, NY, on September 28, 1936, to John and Anna (Primm) Hubert. She was a graduate of All Saints Commercial High School in Brooklyn, NY.

Anne Marie was nurse at Arden Hill Hospital for 23 years, volunteering there after her retirement. She then became a private duty nurse. She not only cared for her patients but comforted their families, often cooking meals for them. Always a nurturer, she cared for her husband Frank until she could no longer.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church for almost 60 years, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and member of Catholic Daughters. Anne Marie was a member of the Blooming Grove Ambulance Corp. and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Anne Marie’s family was everything to her. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, with who she celebrated 64 years of marriage, her brother George Hubert and sister Marietta Braun. She is survived by daughter, Rose Ellen Blake and son-in-law Jack; son, Michael Paterno and daughter-in-law, Janet; daughter Nancy Ann Statini and son-in-law, Joseph; grandchildren: Kurt Blake and Clinton (Melissa) Blake, Kristen Paterno and Eric (Breanna) Paterno.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15th at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16th at St. Mary’s Church 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville, NY.
