Arthur J. Boyle, a resident of Montgomery, NY, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at the age of 97. A proud veteran, Arthur served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952.
Arthur dedicated much of his life to service and protection. He began his career as a New York City Police Officer, where he served with integrity and commitment. Following his retirement from the NYPD, he continued his work in public safety as a Captain for Co-op City’s private security force. He also remained deeply involved in the veteran community, serving as Commander-in-Chief of VFW Post 8691 in Washingtonville, NY.
Arthur shared a loving marriage of over 40 years with his devoted wife, Annette. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories, especially through their shared love of traveling. Whether exploring new destinations or enjoying simple moments together, their journeys reflected a deep bond and appreciation for life.
An avid reader, Arthur had a lifelong passion for learning and could often be found enjoying a good book. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his four daughters: Lydia Ferrara and her husband Nicholas, Pauline Natale and her husband Richard, Leslie Ann Boyle and her husband Michael, and Laura Mattina and her husband John; his seven grandchildren: Nicole Rubino and her husband Joe, Tiffany Toromanides and her husband John, Lauren Weisz and her husband David, Valarie Kannel and her husband Josh, Christopher Rivera and his wife Savaha, Nikki Mattina, and Frank Mattina; and his twelve great-grandchildren: Vincent, Victoria, and Sebastian Rubino; Eleni and Nicholas Toromanides; Joseph, Gianna, and Ary Weisz; William and Evelyn Kannel; and Lucas and Liam Rivera.
Arthur was predeceased by his beloved wife, Annette Boyle; his parents, Arthur and Lucille Boyle; and his siblings, John and Bobby Boyle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st from 4:00–8:00 PM at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 22nd at 11:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville, NY, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2 Fr. Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, NY.
