She was so much to us-the Matriarch and our own personal Queen Mum. While we are grateful that she is no longer in pain, that logic is yet to hit our hearts. Because of dementia, we have been mourning the loss of our wife/mom/nana for some time. Losing her physical body is like starting the process all over again. In the days leading up to her death, she was constantly surrounded by family. In her final moments, she listened to the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.
We will miss your love, silliness and your singing. Each and every one of us at one time or another, have been consoled by your holding us and humming “la-la”. Now you can look down on us without the struggle of trying to remember our names. We know that you are singing and dancing now, dressed to the nines as always. The plates are warmed, there is lots of butter and gravy, big band is playing and you are surrounded by all of your family that you have missed. We are truly blessed that you are ours.
Visitation hours will be held from 7-9p on Wednesday October 18th and from 2-4p and 7-9p on Thursday October 19th, 2017 at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 20th, 2017 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Washingtonville, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
