

David Louis Steeves died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was the beloved first born son of Earle R. and Janet Steeves of Washingtonville, New York. He was born February 26th, 1945 in Ayer, Massachusetts.
David lived a vibrant, independent life. Raised on a dairy farm he was a man of uncommon honor and valor. He served his country in Army intelligence during the Viet Nam war. After graduating from Washingtonville High School and Muhlenberg College he settled in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area and worked as a school bus driver for the Parkland School District and as a bartender at the Buckeye Tavern in Macungie, Pennsylvania. He was a strong family man and a loyal friend.
David is survived by his parents Earle R. and Janet Steeves of Washingtonville New York, his sister Sharen and husband James Casazza of Blooming Grove, New York, and his brothers Earle R. III and his wife Lois of Hampton, New Jersey, James and his wife Janice of Florida, New York, and William of Washingtonville, New York, and by eight nephews and nieces, James II, Daniel, Matthew, Margaret R., Caitlin, Elizabeth, Nally and David.
Visitation will be Friday, February 11th, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, Washingtonville, New York. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blooming Grove United Church of Christ, 2 Old Dominion Road, Blooming Grove, New York.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s honor to Heifer Project International, 1 World Ave. Little Rock, AR. 72202, or the Blooming Grove United Church of Christ, Box 101, Blooming Grove New York 10914.
