Thank you everyone who left Kind words for My Grandmother Elizabeth Mann. As you all know she had an Incredibly huge heart and her words rang through the entire being of a person when she spoke to them, she was and always will be a huge part of my life. In her passing her family has seen many hardships, I’m very happy to know that she was viewed Highly by everyone she met. Thank you all. Sincerely

Mike, I just learned the sad news about Betty's passing yesterday from a WHS teacher I met while in the super market. It's been a long time since I retired in 2002 from WHS, but I always have fond memories of you and Betty from the High School.  
 So sorry for your loss, Betty was a unique and energetic and comical lady. You both made it fun working in the WHS. Be well buddy, sincere condolences for the passing of Betty and all the Best to you.

When I found out that Betty was sick I had a photo of a very special barn printed out and framed for her.   The barn no longer exists, it was consigned to the ages in the early spring of this year. The barn was a very special place up in the Adirondacks that was quirky and delightful. Those who knew it mourned its loss. And this morning I found out that Betty herself,  like the barn, was no longer with us. And those who knew her quirkiness and delightfulness and who took pleasure in just simple conversation with her and knew her for the incredibly generous heart she shared with those who took a moment to get to know her mourn her passing. All throughout her illness I was buoyed by the thought that she was beating it and would be back with her family at Washingtonville High School before too long. This makes her loss even harder to accept. Not that it could ever be accepted.  My heart goes out to her family, who are the very living definition of the words "salt of the earth". There will never be another  like her and she will always be missed.  Farewell, Betty.
