John J. Hirsch

John J. Hirsch of Washingtonville, NY entered into rest on October 12, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1930 in the Bronx, to Frederick and Rose M. Miley Hirsch. John was the devoted husband of Rose Marie P. Hirsch. A loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a retired Machinist for the New York Times. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Army and an avid Met Fan. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie P. Hirsch and his children: Rose Mary and her husband, John Scarano of Goshen, NY, John J. Hirsch of Blauvelt, NY, Catherine A. and her husband, Richard VanDeFlier of Campbell Hall, NY, and Theresa J. Policella of Washingtonville; grandchildren: John, Michael and Daniel Scarano, Jason and Nicholas Policella and Lauren Savino; a brother, Raymond Hirsch of Patterson, NY, also many loving nieces and nephews and his dearest friends, Zack and Charlie. John was pre-deceased by his siblings, Loretta Moran, Mathilda Mulligan, Edward, Frederick and Thomas Hirsch. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011 and Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St Mary’s Church, Washingtonville. Cremation will be private. Arrangements under the care of Thomas A.
