Serge R. Morel

Serge was born on September 1, 1947 in Montreal, Canada to the late Jean Paul and Pierrette (Plante) Morel. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast he especially enjoyed watching his Montreal Canadian hockey team. He was a past hockey coach at Washingtonville High School. He was a gifted athlete and in his youth was chosen as the top athlete in his school. Among his favorite past times was playing the drums, listening to jazz music and being at the beach.

He was revered in his trade as a lithographer and consultant.

His most cherished times were spent at home with his family and many great friends and especially time spent with his grandsons Hunter & Luke. He will be remembered for his giving spirit, his ready smile, his zest for life and for being a friend to all.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Julia Morel, loving sons Michael and Mark Morel and his wife Christina; caring brothers and sisters, Francine Walters (Joe) Pierre Morel (Brenda) Claude Morel, Beverly Peluso (Ronald) and his adoring grandchildren Hunter & Luke Morel. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 42 Goshen Ave. Washingtonville, NY 10992. Cremation services were private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Serge's name can be made to The American Cancer Society.
