Sonya Mann Pearson

Sonya L. Mann Pearson, formerly of Washingtonville and North Carolina entered into rest on December 9, 2014 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence with her family by her side, she was 44. Sonya was born in Newburgh, NY on October 30, 1970, to Edward A. and Shirley F. Dolson Mann. She worked as a Developmental Specialist for Monarch Services in Monroe, NC, prior to that she worked for 17 years at the Valley View Center for Nursing in Goshen, NY as a certified Nursing Assistant. A 1989 Graduate of Washingtonville High School, Graduate of BOCES Adult Tech School Goshen, NY, NYS Nursing Assistant and LPN Certification, Graduate of Sparrow Springs Bible College of Theology, Poughkeepsie, NY, Monarch Services, Certification of College of Direct Support, Monroe, NC. A member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Rev. Thermond Herring Pastor, Newburgh, NY as the Presiding Ministry Officer, as a youth she attended the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Washingtonville, NY, Sonya loved Bowling and was a member of the Newburgh Woman’s Bowling Association. Sonya is survived by her parents Edward and Shirley Mann, New Windsor, NY; Step Son, Keytwan Briggs, Charlotte, NC; A brother, David and his wife Laura Mann, Maybrook, NY; A sister, Patricia Mann, New Windsor, NY; nieces and nephews, David and Milton Cabrera, Raymond Dolson, Zoe Mann and Summer Fisher; great nieces and nephews, Julio, Desirae and Alexa Cabrera also many cousins and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 4-6PM, at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home 20 North St. Washingtonville, NY 10992. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 15, 2014, 12PM, with the Rev. Ruth Wainwright presiding, at the David T.
