

Togus- Dean "Deano" F. Morrison, 67, passed away at the Togus VA Hospital Hospice Unit on June 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waterville, ME on June 14, 1946. A son of Franklin and Evelyn (Pelotte) Morrison. Dean was a graduate of Waterville High School, and then went on to serve his Country in United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home he married his high school sweetheart Doreen Vashon on January 27, 1968. Together they had their daughter Deena in 1973. Dean worked for 45 years for the Zimba Corporation.
Dean was a member of the Waterville American Legion. He was an avid hunter, especially duck hunting and year round fisherman. He loved traveling to attend all of his grandchildren's games, he was their biggest fan. Dean was always there to lend a helping hand; he was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to all. He got great enjoyment at his second home, his Uncle Ira and Aunt Florence's camp in South China, where he loved spending time and being with family.
Dean was predeceased by his parents, by special Auntie Florence and several aunts and uncles.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years Doreen Morrison of Waterville, his daughter Deena McLeod and companion Gregory of Waterville, 3 grandchildren; Connor McLeod, Nakoma and Cody Lessard all of Waterville, brother Dale Morrison and wife Tina, and sister Shelia Higgins and husband Brian all of Albion, His special uncle Ira Salley, uncle Fanando Pelotte and his companion Mamie, aunt Bernice Pelotte, aunt Isabelle Pelotte, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, cousins and friends.
Dean's family would like to thank all the staff at the Togus VA Hospice Unit, especially Dr. Jim, Kathy and Ally, as well as Dr. Lee and Diane in the Oncology Unit.
