Eugene Francis Campbell

1931-2015

TOGUS – Eugene F. Campbell, 84, went to join our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and his Eternal beloved wife Doris on Monday December 14, 2015. He was born in Pawtucket, RI on October 27, 1931, the eldest son of Leo F. Campbell and Loretta F. (Kelly) Campbell. He was a CPL in the army and served in Korea in 1953 with the Custer’s 17th Buffalo Regiment 7th Division, serving alongside family and friends that he grew up with. Most of the men he served with were form Pawtucket, RI. On June 11th, 1960, he married the love of his life and beyond, Doris M. Cook (Fontaine) and they shared their marriage for 46 years and raised 7 children together. He was a great Father, Husband, and the best at everything he did. Before he retired, he was a Master Oil Burner Technician and was employed by Deblois Oil for 23 years, and moved to Maine afterwards. He called Maine, “God’s Country” and loved it here. He leaves behind 5 children; Faith Swiech and Donald of FLA, Doris Fontaine of ME, Lawrence Fontaine of RI, Glenn and Karen of Texas, and Jeanne Perry and Kevin of ME; Sister Mary Charpentier of RI, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Doris, his siblings Jimmy, Francis, Richard, Phyllis, Edith and Sarah; Son Joseph Fontaine; Daughter Rose Dourant; Grandson Craig Fontaine, and granddaughter Dawn Dufrense.

A service will be held on Thursday December 17, 2015 at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery Chapel located on 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine 04330.
