

He was born on March 12, 1930 in Winslow, son of the late Louis and Helene (Turgeon) Huard.
He was educated in Winslow schools, graduating in 1948. He was the first to graduate in his family.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Winslow.
Mr. Huard was a well loved man. He loved telling jokes and it gave him great pleasure in making people laugh. He was the life of every party.
Many knew him when he owned his radio shop and fitness studio, on Temple Street, in Waterville, in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. He held many fun weight lifting competitions among some Waterville residents, in his fitness studio.
He was an avid body builder and weight lifter. He competed in several major competitions, such as, Mr. America and Mr. World in the mid 1950’s. He took second place in the 1959 I.F.B.B. Mr. Universe contest in Montreal, Canada.
He was employed for many years in the potato chip industry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Violette Huard (Rodrigue); his son Edward and his wife Jessica of Waterville, his son Daniel and his wife Jill and their daughters Kathleen and Lisa of Waterville, his daughter Susane Chapman and her son Brian of Winslow. Six brothers, Lucien and his wife Evangeline of Paramount, Calif., Wallace and his wife Lillie, of La Habra, Calif., Gerald and his wife Gladys, of Orange, Calif., Joseph Perley of Palm Springs, Calif., Leonel and his wife Angela, of Winslow and Louis Jr. and his wife Linda of Winslow; three sisters, Germaine Mathieu of Winslow, Anita Michaud of Pico Rivera, Calif., and Elizabeth Withee and her husband Harold of Winslow; brother-in-law Robert Lacombe of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; sister-in-laws Juliette Libby of Chula Vista, Calif., and Jane Huard of Downey, Calif.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Helene, his brothers; John, Reginald, Leon, George and David and a sister, Antoinette.
