Gabrielle M Alain

Waterville—Gabrielle M. Alain, 92, went home to the lord on Monday January 3, 2011 at Oak Grove Nursing Center in Waterville. Gabrielle was born in Winslow the daughter of Alfred J. Veilleux and Anne Marie Morency. Educated in Waterville schools and graduated from Waterville high school and Thomas college. A resident of Waterville Gabrielle also resided in Wethersfield,Conn. for several years before returning to Maine in 1991.

Gabrielle was a loving sister as well as a very special Aunt. A special person to many, she was passionate and gifted in the art of figure skating as well as being a competitive figure skater for many years in both Maine and Connecticut. She also worked as abeautician for Grace & Ideal in Waterville for several years and G. Fox in Hartford, Conn.

Gabrielle was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wilfred Alain of Wethersfield, CT. a brother Leo A. Veilleux and a sister Yvette Bizier both of Waterville.

Surviving are a brother Victor Morency of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, two sisters Lorette Bednash of Jermyn, PA and Jeannine Rossignol of Waterville, as well as several nieces, nephews, great & great great nieces and nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Friday January 7 at Veilleux Funeral Home Waterville. Family and friends are invited to visit from 1pm Friday until the start of the Funeral. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in the Spring. Memorial donations in Gabrielle’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950
