

Portland—John R. “JP” Plante, 44, of Waterville and Oakland died unexpectedly Monday, January 16, 2012 while working in Saco. He was born in Waterville, September 22, 1967, the son of Germain and Carmen (LeClair) Plante.
Educated in Waterville schools and graduated with his bachelor’s degree from University of Maine at Orono. He worked various jobs which included Central Maine Motors in Waterville and most recently for Hawkeye, a subcontractor, building kilovolt towers for CMP.
JP enjoyed many things, most of which revolved around the out of doors. He enjoyed hunting, playing soccer, hockey, golf and he loved to be on the water at Messalonskee Lake where he enjoyed wake surfing. He will be remembered by those who knew him as someone who knew how to have a good time and enjoyed having people around him that liked to do the same.
He was predeceased by his father Germain Plante.
Surviving are his mother Carmen Plante of Waterville; a brother Phillip Plante and his companion Sheng Li of California; a sister Charmaine Haiss of Oakland; 4 nieces Melanie and Stephanie Haiss and Samantha and Melissa Plante; Aunts and Uncles John Plante, Madeline Roy, Emile and Theresa LeClair and Lucy and Wilfred Herard Jr., all of Waterville; Adolph and Theresa LeClair of Brewer and Nelson and Judy LeClair of Bangor; also his dog Barney.
A celebration of JP’s life will be held from 12-2 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Mainely Brews, One Post Office Square in Waterville. Interment will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in the Spring.
