Marie King Cote

Waterville – Marie Cote, 80 of Vassalboro passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Thayer Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Waterville, December 10, 1930 a daughter of the late Vernard and Laura (Veilleux) King. She was educated at St. Francis de Sales School in Waterville, and graduated from Waterville High School in 1949. Marie then went on to marry Onesime “Zim” Cote and together they raised their twin daughters. She worked as a telephone operator for many years.

Marie was a member of Corpus Christi Parish where she enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Winslow VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #8835.

Marie is survived by her husband Onesime “Zim” Cote of Vassalboro, daughter Michelle Duquette and husband Carl of Augusta and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Vernard “Buster” King Jr., sisters Judith Goodhue and Margaret Jarbor and daughter Melissa Turcotte.

Calling Hours will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Veilleux Funeral Home from 2-4 & 6-8. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Church Monday, February 21 at 11Am. Interment will be held at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery following mass. A service of the Veilleux Funeral Home.
