

Augusta-Norman Ronald Pomerleau, passed peacefully with his family at his side on June 1st 2014 after suffering from a chronic heart condition. Norman was born in Waterville on April 1st 1938 the youngest of eight children, he was the son of Louis and Roseanna (Thibideault) Pomerleau. He was educated in Waterville Schools.
In July of 1959 he married the love of his life and best friend Marilyn (MacFadzen). They were married nearly 55 years. Over the years Norman was employed by Waterville Poster, W.A Taylor and Sons, Scott Paper Winslow, and S.D. Warren. Retiring in 1994 he and Marilyn enjoyed their retirement years traveling between their home in Waterville and their peace of heaven, a camp he built in the woods of Shirley, Maine. He was an avid sportsman and rarely let his heart condition keep him down. Norman was pre-deceased by older brothers, Edward, Lafayette, Leo and Robert as well as a sister Yvonne(De Neige) Wilbur.
Norman is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughter Peggy and her husband Andrew, of South China. A granddaughter Amanda( Diblasi) Haley and husband TJ of Pearland TX, grandson James Addison Harder IV & his fiancé Amy Lachance of East Vassalboro, granddaughters Alyssa Jaye Breault of Pikeville KY, Jennifer Lee Breault of South China and grandson Joshua Lawrence Breault of South China. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Andrew James and Taylor Janelle Haley. A brother, Francis and wife, Agnes Pomerleau, of Winslow. His sister, Mildred(Rita) Rheaume, also of Winslow. He and Marilyn were also god parents, and especially close to niece Tina (Rheaume) Estes, and her husband Chris of Millinocket, God child, Rhonda (Pooler) Ames, and her husband Mark of Benton, as well as their children, Paige and Micah. Their son, Seth Ames, of Vassalboro, was also a god child. Norman was also b god father to his niece Donna Cayouette of Clinton, prior to marrying Marilyn. One of Norman’s greatest pleasures was regularly hosting breakfast for a group of friends they called, “The Over the Hill Gang,” which included his brother Frank, as well as dear friends, Emerson Fleury and Ron St Amand.
A memorial service will be held at Veilleux’s Funeral Home, 8 Elm St. Waterville, ME on Thursday, June 5th. All are invited to gather at 2PM with the service to begin at 3 PM.
