Richard Alan Bingham, 62 of Waterville passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022 at Maine General Medical Center. He was born January 3, 1960 in Dover Foxcroft, Maine, the eldest child of Milton and Dolores Bingham.
Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force during his senior year of high school in 1977 and then was honorably discharged in 1979. He made his living managing restaurants, most recently at Red Robin. A business and job that he excelled in. He had an innate way of impacting people he encountered in a profoundly positive way.
Richard met his soulmate and love of his life while managing a local gas station, he offered to change the beautiful woman’s oil and the rest is history, the truest of love stories. Richard and Laurie married on July 26, 1986. They have four children. Together they ran a successful EBay business.
Richard lived his life to the fullest and did so with faith that his eternal home with God was waiting for him. He loved snowmobiling, gardening, and watching football-especially the Patriots. His greatest joy however was his family, and most of all his grandchildren who will forever remember him as Beep Beep.
Richard is predeceased by his father Milton, his Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Robert Bingham, and many other aunts and uncles whom he missed tremendously.
Richard is survived by his wife Laurie Bingham. His mother Dolores Bingham of Freeport. His sister Eva and husband David Thurlow and brother Gary and wife Roseanne Bingham. His children, Jeremy and Ashley Bingham of Norridgewock, Melinda and Michael Roberts of Oakland, Katrina and Nicholas Roberts of Augusta. Teresa and Jeffery Harrison of Dover Foxcroft. He is also survived by his greatest joys in life, his grandchildren Caleb, Mason, Ben, Bradleigh, Quinn, Reagan, Alexus, Willow, Jackson, and arriving soon Charleigh.
Richard will be missed tremendously by so many he has touched. He left a legacy that will be carried on by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the outstanding doctors and nurses in CCU who cared for him.
A private visitation will be held on Saturday February 5th, 2022 at Veilleux Funeral home in Waterville. An open service and celebration of life will be held at Centerpoint Community Church in Waterville on Saturday February 5th, 2022 at 5:30pm. His burial will be in the spring of 2022.
