Rita L Smith

WATERVILLE – Rita Rodrigue Smith, 86, of Waterville, passed away at the Oak Grove Center on December 20, 2013. Born on May 27, 1927, in East Hartford, Connecticut, and was the daughter of Sadie Beatrice and Albert Francis Rodrigue. She moved to Waterville when she was very young and was educated in the Waterville school system. Rita was a very hard-working and self-sufficient woman with a very giving heart.

Rita’s first child, Richard Hodgdon, died as an infant and her second child, Gabriele M. Harris, died in 1999. Rita has one granddaughter, Crystal Russell, and three great grandchildren, Chance, Bailey and Chloe Russell. Rita has one surviving sister, Theresa Dyer of Waterville, and one brother, Albert Rodrigue who passed away in 2009. Rita has many nieces and nephews who will miss her.
