Family and friends may call at Haughey-Wood Funeral Home, 119 Fifth St., Watkins Glen, NY on Friday, November 9th, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Netties’s funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, November 10th at 1:00pm. Burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa.
Nettie was born on December 25, 1929 in the Town of Reading, the daughter of the late Sevelon & Harriet Grant Tunnicliff. She was called “Netters” by the teenagers at Vickers & LaFaces. At one time she was very active at the First Baptist Church of Watkins Glen. Nettie loved to read, crochet and share her love of Christ especially with the children that like to gather around her.
She is survived by her daughter Beth (David) Vann; grand daughter Ashley Vann; special feline friend Molly; sister Joyce Tunnicliff; nieces Joan Brick (Bill Peifer), Sandra (Vern) Chrystler, Mary Lou (Tom) McKinney; nephew Charles Tunnicliff; several great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, nephews and cousins; stepdaughters Sylvia Palmer & Linda Nagle; several step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Nettie was predeceased by her husband P. Alfred Palmer; daughter Rebecca Joy; sister Mary Wenban; brothers Sevelon, Robert Albert, George Ernest, Harold James; nephew Gordon James; and cousin Charles Van Riper.
