

She was the loving wife of Charles for 67 years. Beloved mother of Brad (Mary), Wendy (Ron) Bostwick, Greg (Sharon Smith), Kevin (Victor), and David (Kathy). Proud grandma of Richard (Andrea), Ross (Andrea), Thomas (Lauren), Kimberly (Ian), Patrick (Erin), Leah (Jorge), Rosanna (Ryan), Charles, Robert, and Jackson. Cherished GG of fourteen. Dear sister-in-law of Peggy (Keith) Carter and Jeanne Stack. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in passing by her brother, Kenneth.
Carolyn was a proud graduate of St Mary Catholic High School, class of 1957. She went on to attend Eastern Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree with a focus on reading. Her passion for educating children led her to a career with the Wayne-Westland School District, where she primarily taught 3rd grade for over thirty years.
Outside of teaching, Carolyn enjoyed gardening, reading, camping, and bird-watching. Despite her busy schedule, she found time to stay active with sports, such as golfing, tennis, and following U of M football. One of her biggest accomplishments was biking across the state five times. Carolyn was an active member of Wayne Ladies Literary Club, Wayne Garden Club, and served as a eucharistic minister at St Mary. She was a determined piano student, persistently taking lessons and honing her craft for nearly three decades.
Carolyn was proud of her Polish heritage and passed this pride down to her children and grandchildren. She was known for hosting holiday parties, particularly on Christmas Eve, incorporating Polish traditions. Her adventurous and creative spirit left a lasting impact on those she loved.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 34567 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184. A rosary service will take place at 7:00 pm.
An in state will occur on Thursday, December 4, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, at St Mary Catholic Church, 34530 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184, followed by a funeral mass beginning at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn's memory are appreciated to the St Mary Community Outreach Center or the American Lung Association.
