Jane Sobieski

Jane (Jurczyk) Sobieski, age 82, passed away on January 19, 2018, in Westland, Michigan. Jane was the youngest of 9 children and was born on December 28, 1935, to Michalina “Helen” and Lawrence Jurczyk in Wyandotte Michigan. She is a 1954 graduate of Roosevelt High School, Wyandotte, Michigan. She married Peter S. Sobieski in 1955 and together they had 3 daughters and a son in Taylor, MI. Following Pete’s death in 1976, Jane raised their children as a single mother. She lived a simple, frugal life and was generous in her care for others by opening her heart and home to them without judgement. She delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jane is the cherished mother of Charlotte “Char” (Ray) Greco of Dearborn, Michigan, Carol (Steve) Gall of Shepherd Michigan, Cheryl (Hector) Lebert of Westland, Michigan, and Michael Sobieski of Shepherd Michigan. She is the beloved grandmother of 7 grandchildren; Steven, Michelle, Heather, Michael, Taylor, Meah, and Nathaniel and 9 great-grandchildren; Blake, Alex, Saige, Brooklyn, Breyer, Paisley, Emma, and Michael. Jane is survived by one sister, Patricia Reasoner of California. For many years Jane was an active member and participant at the Ford Senior Activities Center in Taylor Michigan. Jane will be missed by many family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2018, beginning with a gathering at 10:30 am until time of Service at 11:00 am, at St Mary Catholic Church 34530 Michigan Ave., Wayne, Michigan 48184. Family will receive friends on Tuesday January 23, 2018, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. Memorials appreciated to the William Ford Senior Center.
