Jani Platz was a one in a million kind of woman. She loved to laugh and her late husband Richard ‘Duke Platz’ made her laugh best! She knew how to host a party and entertaining wasn’t an occasion for her, it was a lifestyle. Whether at home or at our family cottage she and her late husband, Richard ‘Duke’ Platz lived by the principle of ‘the-more-the-merrier’! She was a woman who would be the first one to the rescue in times of trouble. She was the first one to make what seemed impossible come to fruition. She was also the first one to call someone out when they’re actions didn’t align with her ‘family first’ mindset. She was fun, loving, confident and full of zest. She was a bit of a pushover that coincidentally could also steamroll the best of us; more times than not - deservingly so. She was a hard working woman yet never complained about being too tired to meet the needs of others. She was always up for a celebration and made sure that family milestone occasions were celebrated to the nines. She loved her family and friends and truly appreciated unique personalities. Jani Platz was an amazing woman and will be remembered and missed by many.
She will be sorely missed by her Daughter Emily Dickey [Scott] , Sons Joseph [Sara] Platz and Steve [Jennifer] Platz, and six grandchildren: Jacob Platz, Casper Dickey, Natalie Platz [Deceased 2003], Henry Platz, Jani Dickey, Benjamin Platz, Bella Platz and two sisters Sue [John] Foote, Jean Wakeford and many nieces & nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced to honor her vivacious spirit and the many laughs shared by friends, family and her late husband of almost 40 years, Richard Platz.
