Jesse L. Cope

Jesse dedicated much of his life to his work as a truck driver, spending 32 years with Eby-Brown, now known as Performance Food Group. He was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in providing for his family.

Outside of work, Jesse found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with his family, especially bowling together, and enjoyed playing frisbee, horseshoes, shooting pool, swimming and barbecuing. He created many lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Irene; his children Jesse Jr. (Amanda), Christopher and Amy; and his cherished grandkids, Dylan, Richard, Wyatt, Tyson and Izabella. He will also be remembered by extended family and friends who will deeply miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ollie Cope, his parents-in-law, Glen and Mary Rushlow, and his brother, Buddy Cope.

Jesse will be remembered for his love of his family and his hardworking spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 34567 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184 on April 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Memory Sharing Service will take place at the funeral home from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
