Olga Mary Byrd, born December 31, 1927, to Pietro and Emila Bonanni, peacefully departed from this world on April 24, 2024, at the age of 96. She now rests in eternal peace, joining her beloved late husband, Ralph Byrd, and their cherished children.
Throughout her life, Olga was a beacon of love and strength to her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will forever be treasured by those who knew her. Olga was the loving mother of Glen Byrd and Debbie Byrd, and the proud grandmother of Scott Byrd, Jeffrey (Kelly) Byrd, Jennifer Gilmore, and Joseph Byrd. She was also blessed to be the great-grandmother of Anthony, Mason, Ethan, and Logan.
In addition to her role as a dedicated family woman, Olga dedicated many years of service to the Wayne County Health Department, where her compassion and dedication positively impacted the lives of many in her community.
Olga's interests were as varied as they were deep. An avid collector, she found joy in discovering and preserving the beauty of the world around her. She was also a devoted dog lover, finding solace and companionship in the presence of her furry friends. Among her simple pleasures, Olga enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, finding contentment in the harmony of nature.
Olga will be deeply missed by her surviving sister, Anna Brewer, and the memory of her late sisters, Antoinette Marzicola, and Mary Papke. Her presence in their lives brought light and laughter, and her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration.
A final resting place has been prepared for Olga at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband and children. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness, love, and grace.
