

He was born May 28, 1937 in North Carolina, a son of the late Albert Jackson Sr., and Lessie Ann Murphy Collins.
He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church, retired from Wayne Tex of Waynesboro and Rail and Nail of Crimora.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Osborne and Oza Lynn Barroso.
Survivors include his loving wife, Edna “Nookie” Collins, a son, Jay Collins and wife Tammy of New Hope, a brother, Ray Collins and wife Betty Faye of North Carolina, two grandchildren, Jayson Collins, Jared Collins, three step-daughters, Deborah Dawn Terrell of Crimora, La Saundra Ann “Sonie” Terrell of Waynesboro, Stacey LaVerene Spencer and husband Terry of Crimora, step-grandchildren, Jacobie Napier, Casedy Spencer, Skylar Napeir, Taijha Jones, Trisha Bruce, Zackery Spencer, two step-great grandchildren. Marlee Napier, Lyrik Jones, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Saylor and David Coffey. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Collins, Jr., Donald Whitley, Doug Colvin, Frank Nolen, Julian Via, Larry Estes and Gary Scrogham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Scrogham, Pete Baber, Buck Iseli, Pat Lauderback, Terry Spencer and Mike Shifflett.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the funeral home.
