
Annette was born Waynesboro, Virginia, to Mildred F. Painter and William M. Painter Sr, on September 2nd, 1940. Annette, the youngest of 11 siblings, was a loving, caring, and private individual who will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. After graduating high school, Annette worked as a beautician, first working at a local shop, before opening her own beauty parlor in her home with the assistance of her husband. She also owned and operated Annetteques Antique Shop for 15 years in Waynesboro. In her spare time, Annette enjoyed antiquing, visiting yard sales, cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed indulging her sweet tooth and sharing her cooking with her family.
In addition to her parents, Annette was preceded in death by a god-daughter, Bobbi Jo Wintergrass; 9 of her siblings; and her feline sidekicks, Josie and Jessie.
Annette is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Harry Clay Roberts of Waynesboro; her sons, Bill Hoffman II and wife Theresa of Waynesboro and Ron Hoffman and wife Michelle of Waynesboro. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Jake Hoffman, Tommy Hoffman and Gage Hoffman, as well as 6 great grandchildren; and her sister, Francis Sheetz.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9th, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesboro Rescue Squad in Annette’s memory.
