Barbara Ann Owen

Mrs. Owen was born to the late Zettie and Ida (Vess) Sandridge on September 10, 1941.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education. She retired as a Christian Education School Principal.

She was a charter member of Midway Bible Baptist Church in Fishersville where she was director of the children’s church camp, head cook and Sunday School Teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Forrest Sandridge, Clyde Sandridge, Sammy Sandridge, Joyce Wattlington; and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Owen.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her sons, Tim Owen (Loretta) of Atlanta, Georgia, Danny Owen (Krista) of Staunton; daughter, Darlene Tice (Dan) of Crozet; a sister, Vernell Morris of Greenwood; grandchildren, Paul (Victoria), Arabella, Felicity, and Raelynn Owen, Amanda (Roger) Pace, Connor, Chris (Courtney), Leighton, and Anderson Owen, Rachel, Blake, Peyton, Destiny, Samuel (Hannah), Brooklynn, Aaron (Tiffany), Adam, Luke, Seth, and Noah Brown, Samantha Tice, Krystin (Dereck), Caroline and Lydia Perry, Jonathan (Adriana), and William Owen, Drew Dennis and Zach Dennis.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Midway Bible Baptist Church with Pastors Jeff Plemons and Mike Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Midway Bible Baptist Church, 37 Midway Lane, Fishersville, Va.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Cruz, Michelle, Carolynn, Tamara, Diane, Gail and the Augusta Health Cancer Center for all their compassion and care.
