Billy Franklin Henderson

He was preceded in death by his parents Pocahontas Ross Henderson and Clarence Adam Henderson, two sisters, Hazel Jane Doyle and Jean Lyons and by two brothers, Avner (Buddy) Henderson and DeWayne Henderson.

Billy retired from Tyco Inc. in 1998. He worked part-time for Independent Stamping until 2010. He took great joy in his vegetable garden and his dogs, Moose, Petey, Honey Girl and Mikey.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Judy Herron Henderson, his children: Teresa Henderson Biby and her husband Mike of Fishersville, Lorie Ann Henderson of Waynesboro, and Patrick Evan Henderson of Waynesboro. He is also survived by one stepson, Richard Scott Cubbage and his partner, John Elledge of Charlottesville. He is survived by four grandchildren Jonathan Foxx and Jeremy Biby of Fishersville, Cory Brown of Waynesboro, and Evan Henderson of Waynesboro. He is also survived by a special family member Annie Fretwell of Lyndhurst. He is survived by two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Layla Brown and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is survived by two sisters, Beverly Henderson and Becky Henderson, both of Waynesboro.

At the Billy’s request, there will be no formal viewing or family night. Instead, there will be a brief service at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 15, 2011 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Keith Hulton officiating.

We would like to say a special thanks to HOPE Cancer Center and to Earl Lunsford, a neighbor and friend, who did so much for Billy.
