Brian was born in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Lawrence William and Jackie (Walker) Burton. He graduated from Ross High School in 1981 and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in IT/Management Information Systems.
Brian served his community and his country. He was an Eagle Scout (Order of the Arrow) and a United States Army veteran. His military service included working at the Pentagon. He then worked in the private sector in technology in the DC metro area, where he met his wife. They married in 2011 and blended their family. They eventually relocated to Waynesboro due to their love of the Shenandoah National Forest and many other hiking opportunities in the area.
Brian will be remembered as someone who expressed his love through service to others. No problem was too big or small. He gave generously of his time and talents. He taught himself to play the banjo and became quite accomplished at it. More recently, he was an avid reader of Biblical theology and amassed a library of books. He will also be remembered as someone who loved his family dearly and worked hard in life to provide for his family.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and his beloved dog Miah.
He is survived by his wife Tricia (Nichols) Burton; his children, Eric Burton, Becky Burton, and Evan (Nichols); his sisters, Sherri (Gary) Reynolds, Julie (Skip) McArthur, and Jill (Tom)Thomas; his mother-in-law, Gloria Nichols; brother-in-law, Dwight (Jaimie) Nichols; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
