

He was born June 3, 1956, a son of the late Charles Henry and Doris Jean (Campbell) Hemp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Dwight Randal Hemp, Mark Ray Hemp and Carolyn Susan Golladay.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Dora Ann Hemp; daughter, Kim Howery and husband Steve; sons, Michael Hemp, Calvin “Bubby” Hemp, Jr., and wife Kathy.
Calvin loved his grandchildren who made up his world, Samantha, Kelsey, Hunter, Elisabeth, Kiersten, Cole, Calvin lll; and two great-grandsons, Alexander and Kayden.
He also leaves a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Calvin worked for many years as a local mechanic starting at a young age for Drumheller’s, then going to Baugher Chevrolet, Brown’s Automotive and Elliott Chevrolet before he retired and delivered newspapers for 30 years.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St. Waynesboro.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Lynside Mennonite Church in Lyndhurst with Pastor Gordon Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Hemp, Calvin Hemp Jr., Steve Howery, Hunter Howery, Cory Golladay and Jake Waymack.
Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Hemp lll, Cole Hemp, Kiersten Hemp, Kelsey McCown and Elisabeth Howery.
