Caroline was born in Mississippi to Juanita (Miller) Wigle and Charles Wigle on October 20th, 1937. While living in Mississippi, Caroline met Harold E. Baldwin Jr., who would become her childhood sweetheart, and eventually, become her husband. Caroline was a teacher, serving for over 18 years as a kindergarten and nursery school teacher. She dearly loved children and animals, was an accomplished puppeteer, and was a dedicated volunteer with Main St. United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, where she worked in the children’s ministry. Her love of animals overlapped with her dedication to the kids in the community when she had kids come out to their farm to ride her beloved horses. Caroline had a special place in her heart for horses and dogs, and thoroughly enjoyed working with both.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents.
Caroline is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Harold E. Baldwin Jr. of Waynesboro; her children, James Baldwin (Terresa) of Palm City FL, and Debra Allen (Bruce) of Waynesboro; her grandchildren, Taryn Fitzgerald of Staunton, Kaitlin Fitzgerald (Sam Eldredge) of Ithaca NY, and Brittany Kisamore (Derec) of Crimora; her great-grandchildren Lucas Acker, Kayleigh and Konnor Kisamore of Crimora; her sister, Janie Torrey (Vic) of Windsor NC; and brother, Charles “Duffy” Wigle (Pam) of Kingsport TN, along with nieces and nephews.
