Born on April 8, 1954, in Front Royal, she was the daughter of Irvin Mason Wood Jr. and Ann (Pannell) Wood.
Charlene was a member of Heaven’s Golden Gate’s Church. Being musically talented, she enjoyed singing and playing the tambourine at church. She was employed by Vector Industries for many years. Charlene enjoyed attending family reunions, looking at all of the celebrities in People Magazine and coloring.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Wendell; and one nephew, Mason James Goode Wood.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her siblings, Cheryl McCauley, Jeffrey Wood, and Scott Wood and wife, Tracy; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Golden Clark and Sue Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Josh Wood, Chip Wood, Scott Wood, Isha Wood, Ethan Wood and J. Kent Hite.
