She was born on January 28, 1931 in Burke, Virginia, daughter of the late Donovan H. and Pearl Hill Davis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carter H. Swann.
Mrs. Swann, beloved mother and grandmother, was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, where she was a pre-school teacher.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Thomas H. and Lisa N. Swann of Doswell, GA and Robert C. and Connie A. Swann of Middlebrook, VA; five grandchildren, Michael Swann, Autumn Swann, Chris Stephen, Bob Stephen, Jr. and Andrew Swann.
A service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Neil Hough and Rev. Bill Mayton officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street.
