

He was born October 10, 1944, a son of the late Hershel L. and Helen (Morris) Bridge.
Both he and Susie were members of Mountain View Mennonite Church in Lyndhurst and a longtime farmer until his tractor accident in 1976, which forced him into early retirement. Although he was in constant pain, he never complained or talked about it.
A special time in his life was the two years he spent in voluntary service in Brazil. During this time he met and became close friends with Bill Chupp from Oklahoma. They visited each other many times and remained close friends until Bill’s death.
Upon his return from Brazil, he tried factory work for a while, but eventually settled into the hard work of farming.
In addition his to parents, he was preceded in death by nephews David Lee Nice and Bradley Scott Demastus.
Survivors include his loving wife, Susie Demastus Bridge; son, Neil Bridge and wife Sherry of Arlington; siblings, Brenda Carol “Sis” Nice and husband Dave, Stephen Neil “Son” Bridge and former wife Amie, Esther “ET” Campbell and husband Luke.
He also leaves several loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Mountain View Mennonite Church with Pastor Earl Monroe and Rodney Nice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Spencer Nice, Rodney Nice, Christopher Demastus, Glenwood Bridge, Nathan Yingling, Mark Hodge, John Hailey and Pete Carr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
