Daniel Winston Durrett

He was born on January 4, 1935 in Afton, VA, a son of the late Riley Nathaniel and Bessie Pauline (Awkward) Durrette.

Daniel was a retired automotive mechanic, a United States Air Force Veteran and an avid fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Olivia Durrette and daughter, Barbara Durrette.

He is survived by four daughters; Tonda Washington of Harrisonburg, Danielle Durrette of Verona, Pandora Swats of Staunton, and Donovan Durrette of Waynesboro, devoted grandson, Shawn Michael; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers; Roger and Alfonso Durrette, two sisters; Nancy McCauley and Pauline Wallace; numerous nieces and nephews and a devoted friend, Peggy Monroe.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
