

Born July 15, 1952 in Lansing, MI he was the son of the late Lucille Ann (Osenga) Campbell.
David was a member of the Salvation Army Church, Waynesboro. Prior to retirement, he was employed by South River Complex where he worked for 25 years as a maintenance supervisor. David greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending yard sales, and anything pertaining to trains. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, David Shawn Harvey; brother-in-law, Keith McInnis who he enjoyed watching trains with; best friend, Edwin Craun; and Charles S. “Paw Paw” Root, Jr.
Survivors include his son, Chip Root of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Kylie Harvey, CJ Root, JC Root, Bryan Root, Braydon Root, Brendan Root, Bryanna Root, and Bryason Root; sister, Sharon McInnis of MI; ex-wife and life long friend, Sherri Ray; and Fannie “Granny” Root.
Following cremation, a private family memorial service will be held.
