David Gordon Motes Sr.

David Gordon Motes, Sr., 78, passed away on April 13, 2024 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. He was born July 14, 1945 in Maine, a son of the late Wilson Brown and Beverly Rae (Gordon) Motes. David retired from Hershey Chocolate of Stuarts Draft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kay (Sherrod) Motes. Survivors include a son, David Gordon Motes, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Credle and son-in-law, Alvin Credle; five grandchildren, Cherokee Motes, Sophie Motes, Isaiah Credle, Justin Credle, Abigail Credle; great-grandchildren, Everette Motes, Palmer Motes, Reese Motes and Josiah Anderson. Following cremation there will be no local services. The family will receive friends at his residence on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
