

Born July 14, 1937 in Staunton, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Lacy and Bertha (Wright) Stogdale.
Doris was a longtime member of Harriston United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the former G.E. and later Genicom where she worked as an inspector for 40 years. Doris greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, crafts, painting, sewing and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. “Jim” Clark; granddaughter, Beverley; sister, Nancy Lawhorne; and brothers, Lacy “Sonny” Stogdale and James “Ben” Stogdale.
Survivors include her two sons, Charles Merriken and wife, Donna, of Waynesboro, and Richard Merriken and wife, Debbie, of Farmer City, IL; two stepchildren, Burt Clark and wife, Linda, of Staunton, and Deborah Marshall and husband, Charles, of Chesapeake, VA; brother, Boyd Stogdale of PA; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be close family members in attendance.
