Edgar (McNeil) Hailey

Born on October 2, 1920, in Port Deposit, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harvey G.P. and Ella (Gillespie) McNeil.

Edgar was preceded in death by her husband, J. Thurman Hailey, Sr., three sisters, one brother, one niece and one nephew.

She is survived by daughter, Shirley A. Hailey of Lyndhurst, daughter, Nancy H. Groah and husband, Roy E. Groah of Staunton, son, J. T. Hailey, Jr., of Waynesboro and daughter, Alice V. Hailey-Stout and husband, Novil E. Stout Jr. of Middlebrook.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ella G. Eavers, Matthew G. Eavers, Tamara G. Hostetter and Dawn G. Cox; as well as nine great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church with Rev. Merle Fisher officiating.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 30 Tinkling Spring Drive, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
