Eleanor "Ellie" J. Pelar

Eleanor “Ellie” J. Pelar, 85, of Waynesboro, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Trauger, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Florence and Michael Pelar.

Ellie was employed as a Senior Secretary for 35 years at the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Raymond; a sister, Emma Mattioli; brother-in-laws, Carl Mattioli and James Hendrickson. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Hendrickson of Pleasant Unity, Pennsylvania; her nieces and nephews, Julie and Ken Busony of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Gregory and Kathy Hendrickson of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Beverly and Gene Kornides of Boonsboro, Maryland; great-nieces and great- nephews, Sarah and Robert Kornides, Kevin and Ryan Busony, Laurel Busony and her husband Jimmy Jones, Julie, Katie, Raymond, and Joseph Hendrickson; great- great niece Magnolia “Maggie” Jones.

Ellie’s courage and patience for coping with her physical limitations are an inspiration for all those who know her.

At Ellie’s request, she will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Trauger, Pennsylvania.
